In the month of December, we hosted a workshop facilitated by the Sophia University Graduate School of Global studies workshop series to discuss the topic on Africa rising. This workshop intended to bring into core the possibilities in the narratives of Africa rising in terms of Africa

n studies and international development. The workshop brought together Japanese and African participants from different universities across Japan. This workshop was attempting to fill the wide gap and absence of the voices of Africanists in Japan. Out of this workshop, a desire was born to keep the conversation going in the future through preparing African themed symposiums and workshops.
